Getting a VISA is the first step to begin your Laos tour and also the most important step in the preparation process. Laos’ VISA is easy to get and will not take you a lot of time. We will show you the way steps by steps to get a VISA as you want.
Basic Information about Laos VISA
First, please make sure that your passport is still valid for at least 6 months and bring along some of your passport photos in case we need it. A tourist/ working VISA will valid for 30 days from the day entry in Laos. The expired date is 3 months after issue; you can do it 1 month before leaving based on your schedule and free time. Make sure that you got an entry stamp in your passport when arriving in Laos.
For some neighbor country’s cities such as Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar or countries in ASEAN, Russia, Ukraine is VISA free with different valid days ranging from 14-30 days. And there are also some countries in which citizen must have Official Approval in Advanced to get in Laos.
The Process to Make Laos VISA
There are two ways to get Laos’ VISA. You can get it in advanced from Laos Embassies or Consulates Abroad or VISA on Arrival at the international checkpoint. It is also acceptable to the extent your VISA by up to 30 days with some formalities and requirements: your passport, one passport type photo, service fee (3 USD), application fee: 3,000 kips. And one notice about VISA extension fee: If your VISA is still valid, they charge 2 USD/day, but if your VISA is already expired, there will be a charge of 10 USD/day.
