Day 5: Vientiane - departure
Day 1: Houay Xai - Pakbeng (L, D)
Cruise on a local slow boat departing from Houay Xai pier at 9 AM via Mekong River to Pakbeng. During the journey on the boat, grab your chance to watch daily life in a remote ethnic minority village.
Your local buffet lunch will be served on board as you continue on downstream, arriving in Pakbeng before sunset.
Overnight in Pakbeng
Day 2: Pakbeng - Pak Ou Caves - Luang Prabang (B, L)
Have breakfast to get ready for a new day. Our cruise will head to Luang Prabang. On the journey, the boat will stop at an ethnic Hmong village and then comes your lunch on board.
Around mid-afternoon, the boat arrives at Pak Ou Caves which is an ideal site to discover the old scent with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha images stayed there over hundreds of years.
Following the flow of the Mekong river, we will reach Luang Prabang by late afternoon.

Day 3: Luang Prabang - Half Day City Tour - Kuang Si Waterfall (B)
Our transportation now changes from boat to bicycles, which makes us easier to discover the highlights of Luang Prabang. It includes the Royal Palace Museum which contains a variety of lovely artifacts from Royal periods in Luang Prabang and luxurious Wat Xiengthong with the special, long roof structure, the remarkable stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham.
In the afternoon, on the way heading to Kuang Si Waterfall, we are about to visit morning Phousi Market – the fresh market where all the locals come here and do their shopping every day. You’ll encounter a bunch of regional products, local food such as dried buffalo skin, local tea, and saltpeter, lively poultry, fresh vegetable and fruits, etc.
On arrival at Kuang Si Waterfall, after a long journey, you will have a chance to swim in the topaz pools beneath the falls to cool off, have a walk along the forest pathway and visit the Bear Sanctuary.

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Vientiane - half day city tour (Flight) (B)
Finish Pakbeng and Luang Prabang, the next destination is Vientiane. In the morning, after a short flight, you’ll encounter many temples including the oldest, Wat Sisaket with many mini Buddha statues and Wat Prakeo containing the famous Emerald Buddha Image. One stop that we can’t skip is That Luang Stupa – the national symbol of Laos and also Patuxay Monument which is called Arc de Triumph of Laos. Then, you visit the COPE Center where they exhibit and maintain many UXO survivors by using orthotic and prosthetic devices. In order to help the victim during the Indochina War, in 1997, the Laos government decides to build this museum.

Day 5: Vientiane - Departure (B)
Depending on your flight, you may have time at leisure before you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departing flight. (B)
